Romantik bedeutet, dass ich jemandem das Gefühl gebe, dass er/sie etwas Besonderes ist.
Hier noch ein paar Gedanken darüber, was Romantik NICHT ist :
Romantik hat an sich nichts mit Kerzen, Rosen und Sonnenuntergang zu tun
Romantik hat auch nichts mit Geschenken, Liebesbeteuerungen und kitschiger Musik zu tun
Romantik ist nicht abhängig von Daten wie dem Valentinstag, Hochzeitstag oder Weihnachten
Romantik hat also nichts damit zu tun, WAS wir tun oder nicht tun, sondern mit dem WARUM !!

Here are a few thoughts on what romance is NOT :
- Romance has nothing to do with candles, roses and sunsets.
- Romance has nothing to do with gifts, declarations of love or sappy music.
- Romance is not limited to Valentine’s Day, wedding anniversaries or Christmas.
- Romance is not so much WHAT we do or don’t do, as WHY !!

.... Wenn meine Motivation, meine Gefühle und Wertschätzung gegenüber jemandem das Fundament einer Romantik-Aktion sind, dann ist es vorteilhaft, sich dieser Grundlage bewusst zu machen. Sind es Gefühle, die echt sind ? Oder sind es Gefühle im Sinne einer Projektion, die aus purer Einsamkeit entstanden sind ? In diesem letzten Falle bin ich leicht dazu geneigt, mich 'über-romantisch' zu verhalten, also nicht balanciert zu agieren, was im Gegenüber Irritationen auslösen kann. ZB wenn jemand nach dem zweiten Date bereits einen Ring schenken will...
Da wir also die Romantik im Herzen mittragen, kann sie an den unterschiedlichsten Orten und in verschiedensten Situationen stattfinden.

.... Wenn Sie also wirklich romantisch sein wollen, dann machen Sie sich Gedanken darüber, was für Ihre/n Partner/in wichtig ist, wo /deren/dessen Bedürfnisse sind und wie auf diese am besten und klügsten reagiert werden kann. Der Überraschungseffekt tut das seine dazu.

So, if you really want to be romantic, think about what is important to your partner, what his/her needs are and the best way to fill those needs. The element of surprise will do the rest.
